Renee Montgomery is in her junior year as a Guard for the UConn Huskies. “I’ve been playing basketball since forever. I just love sports.”
Renee’s best memories as a basketball player at UConn so far are going undefeated in the Big East, and the Louisiana State University game during her sophomore year where she scored the game winning three-pointer with seven seconds left in the game along with 20 points which involved a career-high five-three point baskets and seven assists.
“I chose to come to UConn because of the coaching staff. I love the style of play they had. I also felt there would be a good chemistry between my teammate and myself, and I like the family atmosphere.”
The transition from high school basketball to college basketball was tough physically for Renee. Her body had to adjust to playing more games per season, and the level of play was more difficult.
Final Four Bound: When asked if she’s looking forward to reaching the National Collegiate Athletic Association Final Four Renee responded, “Yes, Yes, Yes, I’ll see you in St. Pete.”
